Meningita este infecția și inflamația mucoasei din jurul creierului și a măduvei spinării (meningele). Septicemia este otrăvirea sângelui provocată de aceleași germeni și este cea mai periculoasă formă de viață a bolii. Meningita bacteriană / septicemia este cauzată de un germen care trăiește inofensiv în nasul / gâtul multor oameni. Din nefericire, uneori acest germen invadează organismul, provocând meningită / septicemie, cu consecințe devastatoare.
Meningita B; Costul uman.
Irlanda are cea mai mare rată a bărbaților B din Europa. Din păcate, aproximativ 170 de persoane au meningită / septicemie Men B în fiecare an în Irlanda.
